I hear these cars are very reliable to maintain and are over all good cars. I know they tend to be real big gas guzzlers, but I know I won't be traveling that much. What do you think? Would this be a good option for me? What are the good qualities about it? I'm looking to getting about an '09 model at least. Please don't offer me any other options. Question about gun safety? Every time I take my gun somewhere ( when I'm not shooting) wether it's walking to the gun range, or putting the gun in the backseat of my car, people always freak out at me when I point my gun at them. Why does it matter? I always clean my gun, make sure it has no bullets in it, and put it on safe whenever I'm not shooting, so why does it matter if I accidentally point my gun at someone. I know that not everybody knows my gun isn't loaded, but even the people that I've explained to the percautions i've taken still freak out, and tell me that they will hit me if I point my gun at them again (it was on accident) why do they do this? car insurance. Daihatsu . How to Adjust Tokico Shock AbsorbersThe shock absorber is designed to dampen and control your ride quality as well as the handling of your vehicle. If you're building a performance vehicle that drives on the track and the street, a solid investment is a set of ride-adjustable shocks, such as the ones made by Tokico. With just a turn of a screwdriver, you can adjust how hard or soft you want the ride. This is an easy task that you can do in less than 10 minutes. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Small flat-head screwdriverSuggest EditsItem AddWhy is it necessary?Done Step by Step : 1 Pop the hood and locate the top of the struts. The center of the shaft of the strut is red and is labeled in a circular pattern from 0 to 5, with 0 being the softest ride and 5 being the most firm. 2 Place a flat-head screwdriver into the small slot in the middle of the red circle, and turn the screwdriver until the slot points to the setting you want for your vehicle. Repeat this process until you have adjusted all four corners. 3 Drive the vehicle around the block, and test out the ride quality. If you need to firm up the handling, repeat the process and move the number up at least one point. If you need to soften the ride, repeat the process by moving the number down at least one point. Daihatsu . How to Install a Rear Shock AbsorberAs a vehicle travels down a roadway, it often encounters road surfaces that are less than smooth, such as potholes and breaks in the pavement. Shock absorbers reduce the impact of these surfaces on the occupants of the vehicle. The ability of a shock absorber to reduce this impact diminishes over time, and so it must be periodically replaced. Replacing the old shock absorbers is fairly simple, but it is important to change both rear shock absorbers as a pair, rather than one at a time, to ensure that the rear suspension remains in alignment. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Jack Jack stands Wrench Step by Step : 1 Raise the vehicle with a jack, then lower it onto two jack stands located underneath the vehicle's frame. 2 Access the shock absorbers from underneath the rear of the vehicle, then disconnect the bottom of both shock absorbers from the vehicle's lower mounting bracket. The bottom of each shock absorber features a threaded rod, which slides through the vehicle's lower mounting bracket and is secured in place with a single nut. Remove the nut on the end of each shock absorber with a wrench to access the shock absorber's rubber bushing and inner washer. Slide the bushing and washer off of the threaded tip of the shock absorber. 3 Disconnect the tops of the shock absorbers from the upper mounting brackets. The location where the tops of the shock absorbers mount varies by vehicle. The tops of the shock absorbers are typically inside the luggage compartment. On some older vehicles they are located underneath the rear seat, necessitating its removal. Remove each shock absorber's nut, followed by its rubber bushing and inner washer. 4 Access the shock absorbers from underneath the vehicle, then grasp the upper half of one of the shock absorbers. Pull the upper half down toward the lower half. The shock absorber will compress. Once the threaded rod at the top of the shock absorber is free of the upper mounting bracket, lift the bottom of the shock absorber out of the lower mounting bracket. Repeat the process with the remaining shock absorber. 5 Compress the new shock absorbers and insert the threaded rods on either end of the shock absorbers into their lower mounting brackets. Slide the new rubber bushings and inner washers over the threaded rods, followed by the shock absorbers' nuts. Tighten the nuts with a wrench. 6 Pull the upper half of each shock absorber towards the upper mounting bracket. Guide the threaded rods at the top of the shock absorbers through the holes in their upper mounting brackets, then install the new inner washers and rubber bushings, followed by the nuts. 7 Lift the vehicle with the jack and remove the jack stands, then lower the vehicle to the ground to complete the replacement. *Check the Air fitter Look for the air cleaner (see Figure 3-1). In carbureted engines, the air cleaner is usually large and round with a snorkel sticking out of the side to facilitate the intake of fresh air. Some fuel-injected engines also have a round air cleaner; others use a rectangular one. If you unscrew the wing nut on the lid of your air cleaner and undo any other devices that hold it down, you'll find the air filter inside. To see whether your air filter needs to be replaced, just lift it out (it isn't fastened down) and hold it up to the sun or to a strong light. Can you see the light streaming through it? If not, try dropping it lightly, bottom side down, on a hard surface. Doing so should jar some dirt loose. (Don't blow through the filter — you can foul it up that way.) If the filter is still too dirty to see through after you've dropped it a few times, you need a new one. Chapter 13 has instructions for buying and replacing air filters. If you do most of your driving in a dusty or sandy area, you may need to replace your air filter more often. Check the Accessory Belts Take a look at all the belts (see Figures 3-2 and 3-3) that drive the fan, the alternator, and other parts of your car. If any of the belts "gives" more than half an inch when you press on it, you may be able to adjust it if it is otherwise in good condition. If a belt is cracked or frayed inside or outside, or if the inside surface is glazed and shiny, you should replace it. Chapter 14 has instructions for adjusting and replacing accessory belts. Figure 3-2: Accessory belts. Figure 3-3: Serpentine Daihatsu . How do you remove main relay on a 1988 legend?
Infiniti G. * multi- accessory drive belt. .Chapter 3: Preventive Maintenance: A Monthly Under-the-Hood Check Cfl If only one belt appears to be driving all the accessories in your car, see the section called "Check the Serpentine Multi-Accessory Drive Belt," which follows this one. Check the Serpentine Mutti-Accessory Jbriife Belt In most modern vehicles, a single, long, flat drive belt (shown in Figure 3-3) drives all the engine accessories. This belt winds its way around every accessory pulley, and on the way winds tightly around a "tensioner" pulley that keeps the belt to the correct tension. In cases where it is possible to adjust the tensioner, you usually find something that indicates the correct belt tension. It isn't easy to figure out whether a belt is at the right tension just by looking at it, but if the belt is loose, you will hear squeaky noises when you accelerate sharply. (With the hood up and the emergency brake on, have a friend accelerate the engine while you listen. Be sure to keep your hair and clothing away from the belt.) If the belt squeaks, have a professional replace both the belt and the tensioner because, in many cases, radiators and air conditioning condensers may have to be removed to allow access to the belt. The battery also passes electricity along to the parts of your vehicle that need electricity to function. (For more information about the ignition system in general and the battery in particular, see Chapters 5 and 12.) A battery, like other parts of your car, is subject to wear and tear and should be checked regularly. In particular, you want to pay attention to the battery's trouble spots, shown in Figure 3-4. A battery that's kept clean and filled with water should last a long time. 0 Q Part I: Getting Started connector /^m.$!w& Overfilling — -i-d j y^s~>A Corrosion 1 Frayed or broken cables Dirt ~A Cell /^m*^ Loose Daihatsu .
